Elevance Health Foundation proudly announces a new five-year commitment of $150 million that coincides with our 25th anniversary. Starting January 2025, we are strengthening our efforts to create healthier communities through an expanded multi-lever approach.

Our Approach in Action
Inaugural Patient Safety Prize
Our Community Action Leadership program cultivates collaboration among external thought leaders in addressing large-scale community health needs and incentivizes action for change.
Now open for applications, our inaugural challenge focuses on patient safety. We are seeking pioneering community-informed solutions from a diverse group of candidates, including nonprofit organizations, healthcare institutions, technology companies, and patient-advocacy groups. A total prize pool of $5 million will be distributed to recipients who offer actionable, impactful innovations.

Inception of Foundation and launch of its Healthy Generations Program.
2003
The Foundation joins forces with the March of Dimes to reduce low birth weight and preterm births.
2010
The American Cancer Society and the Foundation team to expand health equity in at-risk communities—the Foundation’s first million-dollar grant.
2012
The Foundation supports the American Heart Association’s life-saving Hands-Only CPR campaign.
2014
Boys & Girls Clubs of America receives a five-year, $10 million grant from the Foundation to promote the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
2015
Fitness icon, Jake Steinfeld, receives the inaugural Elevance Health Champion award for his positive impact on the health and wellness of our country.
2021
The Foundation revamps its strategy and makes a three-year, $90 million commitment to improve the health of the socially vulnerable across America.
2024
The Foundation announces a new $10 million commitment to launch an Impact Investing Program that provides loans to under-resourced communities.
2025
Coinciding with our 25th anniversary, the Foundation announces a new five-year commitment of $150 million to address the needs of America’s vulnerable populations.
